Instructions

Important instructions for preparing your shipment

Luggage

  • Your shipping documents will be available to download and print from your sherpr account 24 hours before your collection date. They can be accessed by going to my orders and then “outbound labels”
  • For domestic shipments, only labels are required
  • For all international shipments, make sure to print your labels, 2 x copies of the manifest (for TNT only) and 4x copies of your  pro-forma or commercial invoice for customs
    • Note: Either a proforma or commercial invoice will be generated.  This is dependent on the destination country.  The invoice to attach is found in the customer dashboard on sherpr.com
    • If shipments are being processed with TNT the manifest will automatically be available for download in your dashboard.  If your shipment is traveling with any other courier a manifest is not required
  • For international orders please place 3 x copies of the proforma/commercial invoice in a clear plastic wallet or luggage tag and attach securely to the outside of your suitcase.  We advise using cable ties to attach the wallet or luggage tag to the suitcase.  Hand the remaining invoice to the driver who collects

Note: If sending multiple suitcases, the proforma invoices only need to be attached to the item that has label 1 attached. The label will state “1 of **” and “MASTER” if traveling via FedEx.

  • For orders traveling via TNT, you will have 2 copies of a manifest. Please hand both to the driver, they will sign one and hand it back to you
  • For all shipments, please ensure that you print your labels and attach securely to the outside of your suitcase using a cable tie and luggage tag
  • Ensure your suitcase is sturdy enough to sustain the weight of the contents and is able to be closed securely without undue force
  • Ensure all locks and handles are secure and undamaged. Only TSA Locks are permitted, please do not use any other locks. If you do not have a TSA lock please secure your suitcase using a cable tie
  • Remove any old labels/stickers on the case, particularly ones that have a barcode on them
  • There will be an additional charge for any item larger that is overweight or oversized.  An invoice will be sent to account holder for payment per T&Cs
  • We do not accept duffle bags, rucksacks, laundry bags or holdalls
  • Labels and documents will not stick to canvas cases, so please use cable ties and plastic sleeves
  • Protect Fragile items by individually wrapping them in bubble wrap and please ensure the prohibited/non compensation list has been read and understood
  • Place the additional label in your suitcase as an extra security measure

Cardboard Boxes

  • Your shipping documents will be available to download and print from your sherpr account 24 hours before your collection date. They can be accessed by going to my orders and then “outbound labels”

  • A new double walled box should be used for the shipment. Old boxes may be damaged or weakened
    • We recommend these boxes
    • Ensure it is able to sustain the weight of the contents  – PLEASE DO NOT OVER PACK
    • Ensure it is big enough for your needs, within our maximum dimensions, and has space around all sides, top and bottom for additional padding for protection
  • There will be an additional charge for any item larger that is overweight or oversized.  An invoice will be sent to account holder for payment per T&Cs
  • Use packaging material, ie/ bubble wrap, for packing between the box and your items on all sides as well as top and bottom of the box. There should be at least 4cm of packaging material protecting your goods on all sides
  • Remove all old labels on the box, particularly ones that have an old barcode on them
  • Protect Fragile items by individually wrapping them in bubble wrap and please ensure the prohibited/non compensation list has been read and understood 
  • Gently shake the box. If you can hear your items moving around or rattling, you require more protective packaging material
  • Apply fragile stickers if required but note that that couriers operate automated solutions so it is important to package contents that can withstand automatic conveyors
  • For all bike shipments, it is mandatory that robust bike boxes are used for transport
