Carry-on baggage

On KLM flights, passengers are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage as well as 1 small personal item. Combined, these items should not weigh more than 12kg.

The maximum size for your cabin baggage is 55 x 35 x 25cm.

Checked baggage

Most KLM ticket types entitle passengers to 1 piece of checked baggage. Be aware that if you are travelling Economy Light, you will have to reserve a bag if you wish to travel with checked luggage. Each passenger is allowed to carry up to 9 pieces of checked baggage.

You can do this either at the airport or online before your flight. If you reserve extra luggage over 24 hours before your flight you will receive a discount from the airline.

Excess baggage

If your baggage is heavier than 32kg or larger than 300cm (H + W + L), you should contact KLM customer service directly to discuss having it transported as cargo.

If your bag weighs more than 23kg (and you do not have a business class ticket which allows you up to 32kg) then you may be liable to pay excess baggage fees. For more information on the price of this, you should contact the airline directly.

Contact KLM
